The 2021-2022 Academic Year Opening Lecture will be given online, by Prof. Dr. Suna Güven on 18 October 2021, Monday between 13:40-14:30. All Faculty members and students are invited to join. Prof. Dr. Suna Güven is the co-founder of the History of Architecture Graduate Programme at METU Department of Architecture (together with Prof. Dr. İnci Aslanoğlu). She has directed the program between the years 1995-1998 and 2001-2007. She specializes in Greek, Roman, and Byzantine architecture, art and architecture of Italy, Greece, Asia, and Cyprus, and Latin architecture in the medieval East. Throughout her years at METU, Prof. Dr. Suna Güven has given many courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, intersecting art and architecture, and has supervised numerous MA and Ph.D. theses. She has retired in April 2021. The lecture will be given in English, and is titled: "Borders / Frontiers / Horizons".

Profesör Doktor Suna Güven, ODTÜ Mimarlık Bölümü Mimarlık Tarihi Yüksek Lisans Programı'nın (Prof. Dr. İnci Aslanoğlu ile birlikte) kurucularından olup 1995-1998 ve 2001-2007 yılları arasında programın yöneticiliğini yapmıştır. Yunan, Roma ve Bizans mimarisi, İtalya, Yunanistan, Asya ve Kıbrıs'ın sanat ve mimarisi ile Orta Çağ Doğu Latin mimarisi konusunda uzmanlaşmıştır. Prof. Dr. Suna Güven, ODTÜ'de geçirdiği yıllar boyunca, sanat ve mimariyi kesiştiren lisans ve yüksek lisans düzeyinde birçok ders vermiş, çok sayıda yüksek lisans ve doktora tez danışmanlığı yapmıştır. Nisan 2021'de emekliliğe ayrılmıştır. Dersin dili İngilizce olacak olup, başlığı "Borders / Frontiers / Horizons"dır.
