Students are expected to take and successfully complete 10 elective courses prior to graduation with B.Arch. degree.
- Minimum 5 of the elective courses have to be DEPARTMENTAL ELECTIVES that have to be taken from the Department of Architecture. Among these departmental elective courses, one course has to be taken from each of the following three groups of courses on “Design and Theory”, “History”, and “Technology”.
- Minimum 3 of the elective courses should be NON-DEPARTMENTAL ELECTIVES that have to be taken from other METU departments.
- The remaining 2 elective courses are FREE ELECTIVES that can be taken either from the Department of Architecture or from other METU Departments or other universities in Turkey or abroad.
